Professional and courageous conversations – leadership training

This programs aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to address difficult situations effectively, and to confidently and professionally have appropriate discussions to achieve positive outcomes. An experienced iHR facilitator and two professional actors will re-enact real workplace situations using our unique Workplace Reality Theatre. Participants will have the opportunity to understand and practice how to have professional and courageous conversations.

Learning objectives

At the conclusion of this workshop participants should understand:

• what effective performance management is and why effective performance management is important in the modern workplace

• how to conduct effective performance conversations

• the link between leadership behaviour and performance and how to create a high performance culture through role models, setting expectations, effective feedback and identifying strategies to enhance individual performance

• the importance of fairness and accuracy when managing performance and maintaining a consistent performance management process

• what to do when managing poor performance, including disciplinary actions and warnings.
