Managing everyday performance – performance management training

This full-day workshop will help participants to gain the skills and confidence to conduct effective everyday performance conversations. Targeted at managers with staff, the program participants will work with our facilitator and two actors in our Workplace Reality Theatre to observe, analyse and practice the delivery of both positive and negative high-impact performance feedback.

At the conclusion of this workshop participants should understand:

• what effective performance management is and why it is imperative in the modern workplace

• how to conduct effective everyday performance conversations

• techniques to give feedback to staff that is fair, accurate and consistent with the expectations of workplace law

• the link between leadership, behaviour and performance and how to create a high-performance culture through role models, setting expectations, effective feedback and identifying strategies to enhance individual performance

• the importance of fairness and accuracy when managing performance and maintaining a consistent performance management process

• how to achieve great performance in individuals and teams by recognising and providing motivators such as career development, reward and recognition, and ongoing feedback

• how to manage performance, including the moral and legal requirements associated with formal warnings and termination of employees

• what is required in documenting and recording performance issues.
